Cosgriff SCRIP Fundraiser -
2011/2012 School Year
What Is SCRIP?
SCRIP is a term that means “substitute money”. When you purchase SCRIP, you are purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. SCRIP is a popular fundraiser because families don’t have to sell anything or buy something not needed. Families generate revenue for the school by using SCRIP to make regular household purchases they would make anyway. Groceries, clothing, coffee, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with SCRIP. SCRIP is purchased at a discount by Cosgriff and then sold to you at face value. There is no additional cost to you.
SCRIP Requirement
SCRIP for the 2011/2012 school year is an all-school participation program. Each family is obligated to purchase $2,250 during the school year (August 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012). Families who wish to opt out of the program can do so during the registration period for an opt out fee of $225. See the Parent SCRIP Partnership Program Contract for complete details.
What SCRIP Cards are Available?
SCRIP In Stock: Gift cards for grocery, Starbucks and some additional retailers will be in stock and available for purchase at the SCRIP table. Grocery will include Dan’s, Fresh Market, Harmon’s and Smith’s. Stop by the SCRIP table with a completed order form and your check or cash.
SCRIP Available To Order: SCRIP for over 100 additional retailers is available to order. Order forms are available online at www.cosgriff.org/scrip, at the SCRIP table, and in the school office. Simply complete the form and attach your check or cash. Full payment is required when the order is placed. Orders received by Wednesday will be available the following Wednesday.
Our SCRIP supplier, Great Lakes, offers retailers not listed on the Cosgriff SCRIP order form. Please feel free to add in any retailer that is offered by Great Lakes. The complete retailer list is available online at www.cosgriff.org/scrip. There is a “Write In” section at the bottom of the order form. Indicate the retailer name, quantity, and card value you would like to purchase.
Purchasing Options
There are four different ways to purchase SCRIP.
The SCRIP table is operating every day before school and after school on Fridays. There is also a SCRIP table up after Mass. See the SCRIP Calendar for specific dates.
Yellow Bags are availble to send orders to and from school with your student. Orders received by Wednesday will be available the following Wednesday. Include a check payable to Cosgriff SCRIP with your order.
Orders may be left in the secure SCRIP drop box in the office. Be sure to indicate on the order form whether you would like to pick up the cards at the SCRIP table or have them sent home with your student. Orders left in the drop box by Wednesday will be available the following Wednesday. Include a check payable to Cosgriff SCRIP with your order.
You may sign up for a standing monthly order by completing the required paperwork and providing your bank account information. Your bank account is debited on the 15th of the month or the next business day if the 15th falls on a non-banking day. Your order will be available the following day.
SCRIP can only be purchased with Check or Cash.
Merchant fees associated with accepting credit cards are too costly. Check and cash are the only form of payment so that 100% of the proceeds can be kept by the school. Make checks payable to “Cosgriff SCRIP”.
Please note that any bank fees associated with a check returned for non-sufficient funds will be passed on to the issuer of the check.
Additional notes about Scrip Cards
- Please treat your SCRIP cards like cash. Cosgriff cannot replace lost or stolen cards.
- Please order carefully because the SCRIP cards cannot be returned.
- If wanting to use SCRIP cards for online purchases, check with retailer first for terms and conditions of online purchases.
