Volunteer

Volunteer service helps Cosgriff save valuable time and money while allowing parents and families to be actively involved in their children’s education.

This page is here to help you decided how you want to spend your volunteer time. Your level of involvement with each activity can vary. You may fulfill your obligation on one event, helping from start to finish, or you may choose to spread out your time helping various activities through out the school year.

Volunteer Hour requirements

Each Cosgriff family with students in grades K-8 is required to complete 20 hours of volunteer service for the school. Families with children only attending the preschool are required to complete 10 hours of service.

All volunteer hours must be completed and submitted to the main office by the last day of school. Families will be charged $10.00 for each uncompleted service hour.

Daily Volunteer Opportunities
Playground duty and lunchroom helpers are always needed. This is a good way to sneak in some extra hours. In addition, many times teachers need parents to help in the classroom on a scheduled regular basis as well as spur of the moment extra help. You may contact your room reps to find out what your child’s teacher’s needs are.

Mardi Gras
This is a big event! It is held every year on the Saturday before Ash Wednesday. There are numerous volunteer opportunities for this event. You may wish to become involved by joining a committee and working from the planning stage up to the event or you could be a cashier or dealer etc. for the event itself.
